FDA: American Heart Month and National Wear Red Day

Heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women. It’s also the leading cause of death for people of most ethnicities in the United States, including African Americans, Hispanics, and whites.

The latest on safety and regulatory issues related to cardiovascular disease, including product approvals, safety warnings, notices of upcoming public meetings, and notices about proposed regulatory guidances.

Each February, FDA observes American Heart Month to help raise awareness about heart disease and the agency’s role in developing and approving treatments for heart disease. On the first Friday in February, FDA celebrates National Wear Red Day to raise awareness about women and heart disease.
